Any photograph will do
It does not need to be a good photograph. A phone snapshot from years ago, slightly blurred, taken without thinking — that is what most memorial commissions begin with, and it is enough. You can tell us anything that helps: how they held themselves, the colour the camera never caught right, which ear sat wrong. We render what you remember.

The studio returns a proof in a few minutes. You look at it before anything is charged, and if it is not right, you can have it rendered again.

Take your time
Nothing is printed until you say so. Some people order the same evening and some come back weeks later. Both are ordinary here.
Traditions suited to a memorial
Any of our collections can be commissioned as a memorial. These three keep closest to traditional portraiture — steady, formal poses, composed the way old family portraits were.
Renaissance
Deep velvet and a fur-lined mantle, lit from one side against a dark ground. Still and formal, the way a family portrait was once painted.
Victorian
Warm sepia tones and soft daylight, seated and turned slightly from the viewer. The gentlest of the three.
Tudor
Exact, close detail against jewel-dark colour. Composed and unhurried — a portrait that holds the eye the way a museum panel does.
What we are giving you
The portrait is rendered by our studio software in the manner of the old masters, then printed on cotton-blend canvas and stretched ready to hang. We would rather set that out plainly than dress it up: what arrives is a print of a rendered image. What it is, and what it will go on being, is a considered and permanent likeness of your companion, made to live on a wall for a long time.
