A custom pet portrait is a Christmas gift for the dog and cat people who already have everything. Upload any clear photo of their pet and we render a dog portrait or cat portrait in one of our historical traditions, from the Tudor court to the Apollo program, then print it on gallery-wrapped, cotton-blend canvas or a phone case and ship it to their door.

  • Proof in minutes
  • No card, no account
  • Nothing to pay until you approve

How it works

  1. Send one photo

Any clear photo of their pet works: from your camera roll, a message, or their social media. No need to ask them and ruin the surprise, though for a phone case you will need to know which phone they carry.

  2. Pick a tradition, see the proof

Choose a tradition, from the Tudor Court to the Apollo Program. Your free proof is ready in minutes, and if it is not quite them, you can try a new proof.

  3. We ship it to them

Mark it as a gift and it goes straight to the recipient. We can email them your note if you like, and your confirmation comes to you.

Christmas morning

What it looks like, unwrapped

Styled scenes, generated for illustration: the people and rooms are not real. The portrait on each product is real studio work, shown on a mockup of the product.
  • Styled scene: by a fireplace, a laughing woman holds a canvas print of an AI-rendered, painted-style portrait of a black-and-white cat as a Roman emperor, the same cat beside her
  • Styled scene: by a Christmas tree, a woman holds a canvas print of an AI-rendered, painted-style portrait of a Shiba Inu in a ruffled collar, the same dog beside her
  • Styled scene: a hand holds a phone case printed with an AI-rendered, Art Nouveau-style portrait of a black-and-white cat, the same cat on a snowy windowsill
  • Styled scene: a phone case printed with an AI-rendered, painted-style portrait of a Shiba Inu as a Napoleonic marshal, on a coffee table, the same dog resting its chin beside it

The phone case

A pet phone case gift they carry every day

Studio examples

The same portrait, printed on a phone case for $45. Two styles, both impact-resistant, one of them magnetic, for recent iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models. We extend the portrait so their pet sits clear of the camera, and it ships straight to them, just like a canvas. Check which phone they use first (it's in their phone's settings): each case is made for one model.

For the dog people and the cat people

Pick the tradition that suits them

Fourteen traditions, each rendered for whichever animal is in the photograph: courts and empires (Roman Imperial, Pharaonic Dynastic, Tudor Court, Florentine Ducal, Napoleonic Campaign, Edo Period), art movements (Dutch Golden Age, Post-Impressionist, Art Nouveau, Gothic Revival, Flemish Winter), and journeys and eras (Victorian Expedition, Apollo Program, Nineties Underground).

Why it works as a present

The photo

What photo works best?

  1. Eyes in focus. Sharp eyes carry the likeness more than anything else.
  2. Eye level, in daylight. Kneel to their level; a window beats a lamp or a flash.
  3. A face that fills the frame. Ears and chin in the picture, and nothing covering the face.

The canvas

Which canvas size should I choose?

  • 12 by 16 inches, 16 by 12 inches, 14 by 14 inches For desks, shelves, and intimate walls. $60
  • 16 by 20 inches Sized for mantels and foyers. $80
  • 18 by 24 inches, 24 by 18 inches The statement piece, for a wall of its own. $100

Christmas questions

When do I need to order for Christmas?

The final order-by date for Christmas delivery is confirmed each autumn, once our print partners publish their holiday cutoffs, and it will appear at the top of this page. Until then, the earlier you order, the more time there is.

Can it ship straight to them?

Yes. Mark it as a gift at checkout and enter their address, and we ship it there. Your receipt comes to you by email, not to them.

Can I give a phone case instead of a canvas?

Yes. Any free proof can be printed on a phone case for $45, for recent iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models, and it ships to them just like a canvas. Check which phone they use first (it's in their phone's settings): each case is made for one model. Each one is made to order, so it can't be returned or exchanged for a change of mind.

Does your email to them show the price?

Our email carries your note, if you add one, and a link to their portrait; neither shows what you paid.

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship to 32 countries: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and countries across Europe. The full list is in the country menu at checkout, where shipping is added for the address you enter.
